“Daffodils and Mountain Scarecrows”
The first signs of spring are here even though winter is still officially with us. The daffodils couldn't wait any longer and already greet our guests with their colourful display of flowers.
For those of you that enjoy beautiful gardens mark the first weekend in October in your diary to visit us as this is when we celebrate Springtime on the Mountain. For more information have a look on www.tmgc.org.au

Here is a picture, as promised, of our Scarecrow Witch - she even won the first prize as the best Creative Scarecrow! We are very proud and will leave her out in front of our entrance a little bit longer so you might get a chance to see her.

“We Won!!”
We are pleased to announce that on the 12th June we were awarded the winners at the Scenic Rim Regional Tourism Awards for New Tourism Operator/Development! Wow all our efforts in the renovations and our new implementations with our food menus and extra services have paid off with this acknowledgment. To say we are happy is an understatement!

David and Daniela at the Awards.
Winter is the time for snuggling beside the fire, getting reacquainted, soaking in a spa, even finally reading that book that has been beckoning and of course relaxing. For many of you, June heralds the end of the financial year – paperwork and more paperwork. Why not schedule in a break away and come and visit us up here on the mountain? David has stocked the wood pile to ensure your fires will stay burning! Our weekends are filling fast, however maybe a mid week escape may be fitting after all the formalities for the tax man are sorted.
On the local front, the Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival will be held from the 27th-29th June. Many locals have been very busy stuffing straw and coming up with some crazy ideas so there should be some wonderful scarecrows around the mountain and we are looking forward to seeing the variety on show.
There will be a picture of our scarecrow in the next newsletter!
We would like to congratulate Sue Johnson who won the two night stay here at Witches Falls Cottages for attending a Bluedog Photography Weekend Retreat. Congratulations Sue! For more details on the Bluedog Photography Workshops and Retreats visit www.blue-dog.com.au

“Getaway in Autumn”
Slowly the nip of autumn is creeping into the air and here on the mountain our deciduous trees are starting to turn gorgeous shades of orange and bronze. We are seeing some brilliant sunsets at present – a perfect way to end the day. We have taken the picture below only two days ago, whilst we enjoyed a nice glass of wine at the lookout. It’s another great season to come and visit Tamborine Mountain. Why not come on up and sit by the crackling fire and enjoy a glass of our complimentary port. Sound enticing?

Those who read our newsletters regularly or even visited us since we have done the renovations know already that we installed a BBQ out in the private courtyard garden for each cottage.
Wether you order a BBQ Dinner Hamper from us or you bring your own BBQ makings, now you have the possibility to get fresh herbs from our specially planted herb garden!
In the last few weeks Daniela has been busy planting, with Basil, Sage, Thyme, Garlic and Onion Chives, Parsley, Mint and if you are lucky you may even find some strawberries. We will certainly extend the varieties of herbs over the next couple of months. What would you like Daniela to plant in the Witches Garden beds?

“Double Celebrations”
We are celebrating twice over this month!!
Firstly, Tamborine National Park is celebrating its 100th birthday! The Witches Falls section, right next door, was the first National Park declared in Queensland on the 28 March 1908 and the third in the world. Happy Birthday Tamborine Mountain!
Secondly our renovations are now totally complete and what a difference you will notice on your return!
Each cottage has a private courtyard with covered BBQ area - perfect for that romantic moonlight dinner under the stars. And then there’s the new bathrooms – the highlight a luxurious double spa featuring your own fern wall and full panelled glass wall leading to your own private rain forested garden while above, the glass roof lets you once again soak in the ambience as the clouds or stars float past you above.
Also we now offer BBQ hampers for dinner and along with our famed homemade bread and breakfast sourced from local suppliers we now present our luxury Champagne Breakfast for something very special!
We’d love to welcome you back - as a repeat guest we would like to give you a complimentary Champagne Breakfast with every 3 Night Booking made until the end of April 2008!

“Remarkable Renos and Easter Escape”
How time flies – it seems we just have taken down the Christmas decorations and already the Easter Break is only a month away!
Despite the rain the renovations of our cottages are well and truly under way and looking terrific!
Each cottage has a new private courtyard garden with a covered BBQ area and an outside dining table for your romantic moonlight dinner or a relaxed breakfast accompanied by the local birds and the soft soothing sounds from your own water feature.
Enjoy some time in our new and very comfortable double spas – each with their own feature ‘fern wall’ - where you will feel almost surrounded by rainforest. The mood is enhanced by the dimmed lighting creating an incredible atmosphere - you can even watch the stars twinkling through the Rose Gums above!
The doors will be opening again on the 7th March 2008. We would love to welcome you back to see all our new fantastic transformations that we are sure you will agree make our cottages even better than before.
