About Mt Barney
With the region categorised as the 3rd most biologically diverse region within Australia, Mt Barney National Park has a lot to offer. ‘Rising majestically above the surrounding landscape, the rugged peaks within
Mt Barney National Park are some of the best-known and most spectacular mountains in South-East Queensland.
Reaching 1359metres, Mt Barney’s West peak is the second highest in southern Queensland.
These mountains are special places to Aboriginal people, bushwalkers and naturalists alike.
Mt Barney offers a plethora of walks suited for beginner bushwalkers, right through to the epic adventurer. Please note that walks in this National Park are not always clearly signposted and mobil reception is minimal. Please seek further advice on walking routes and conditions.

Things to do
Walks - Take a walk through history, as we guide you along the banks of the upper catchments of the Logan River. Learn about the history and ecology of the area as you pass through volcanic rock formations, coal seams and view ancient, untouched land from a spectacular lookout.
Swim - Cool off in one of the inviting waterholes along the creek

Wildlife - Take a stroll down to the creek in the early morning or late afternoon and you will see Paddymelons grassing along the creek banks and if you are very lucky you might even see a Platapus in the crystal clear water
Photography - Take your camera and explore the local flora and fauna. You will get some great photo opportunities and take some amazing images.

Relax - This is the perfect location to sit in front of your Camper Trailer and listen to the birds, read a book and enjoy a glass of wine. In the evening you can sit around one of the open campfires and share your stories, have a laugh and a sample some local wine.
