Q: Where are Witches Falls Cottages?
A: You will find us in the Gold Coast Hinterland on beautiful Tamborine Mountain (sometimes known as Mount Tamborine, Mt Tamborine and Tambourine Mountain).

We are about 1km from the Main Street of North Tamborine, on the corner of Main Western and Hartley Roads. Please use our location page for maps, more detailed information and directions.

Q: How long does it take to get to Witches Falls Cottages?
A: From Brisbane, about an hour - depending on traffic. From the Gold Coast, about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic and which end of the Gold Coast you are traveling from.

Q: Can I walk to Restaurants and Wineries from Witches Falls Cottages?
A: Yes, the town centre of North Tamborine where you will find several Restaurants and Cafes, including Clancy's Irish Bar, is only 1km away. We do provide information about restaurants and copies of various menus at check in and in your cottage.
There are 3 Wineries within walking distance. Witches Falls Winery is about 300 meters away on Main Western Road, on Hartley Road you find Mason Wines about 300 meters away and Cedar Creek Winery is about 1km away. Mason Wines and Cedar Creek Winery have a restaurant which offer light meals for lunch in a beautiful setting. Cedar Creek Estate is also home to the Queensland Wine Centre and the famous Glow Worm Caves.

Q: Are there walking tracks close by?
A: Our Neighbour, Queensland's oldest National Park, Witches Falls National Park can be found just opposite us (your own private rainforest to explore!). Here you will find an amazing walk through Rainforest and Palm Groves.

The MacDonald, Cedar Creek, Palm Grove, The Knoll and the Joalah sections of the Tamborine National Park all provide walking tracks which have easy access and are only a couple of kilometers from Witches Falls Cottages. You may view or download a Map of all Walking Tracks)

Q: Do you have views?
A: Yes and No. We are close to the escarpment and from there you can see the sunset from our property through the trees of the National Park. For an open view you might take a short stroll from our Cottages to the Rotary Lookout where you can sit and enjoy (perhaps with a bottle of wine or champagne) one of the magnificent sunsets Tamborine Mountain is well known for.

Q: What is your ABN
A: ABN - 34646537091 (COTS Property Pty Ltd Trading as Witches Falls Cottages)

Q: Do you have different types of accommodation?

A: Yes, we have five identical, individual private cottages, two premium cottages which are built as a duplex and one rainforest suite which is our smallest room and attached to one end of the main house. You find an overview of the different accommodation types on our website.

Q: Can you accommodate guests with disabilities?
A: Yes, one of our Premium Cottages has full wheelchair facilities with handrails in the bathroom, big light switches, lowered BBQ to allow for a guests to cook a BBQ whilst sitting down and much more. Of course the carpark is right in front of the cottage for each access. Please let us know at the time when you make your booking if you have special requirements.

Q: Do you cater for guests with special dietary requirements?
A: Yes, we can cater to vegetarians, vegans, gluten or lactose intolerant guests. We have guests who require a low salt diet, have allergies or avoid certain food groups for other reasons. We do pride ourselves to be able to prepare a delicious breakfast for all of our guests. We do however appreciate if you let us know at the time when you make the booking if you or your partner have any special dietary requirments. 

Q: Are your cottages and the rainforest suite private?
A: Yes, all our cottages and the suite are very private, giving you an intimate space to enjoy some quality time with your partner away from the hassles of the rest of the world.

Q: Do all the cottages and the rainforest suite have a spa bath and a fireplace?
A: Yes, all our rooms have a cosy fireplace (seasonal) and a very nice double spa. In the rainforest suite the double spa bath is situated outdoors in the private courtyard garden. In the private cottages and the premium cottages the double spa is in the bathroom with that special outdoor feel created by glass sliding doors and a glass roof.

Q: Can we use the fireplace in summer?
A: We understand that sometimes in rainy weather it would be nice even in summer to have a fire going but the fireplaces are in use during winter months only.
In summer we use the warmer weather to stack up our wood supply and clean all the chimneys to get the fireplaces ready for the next winter again.

Q: Can I bring my child with me?
A: All our cottages have been created for couples only and we do not have facilities for children.

Q: We are a group of friends who come together once a year and want to have a fun weekend together on Tamborine Mountain. Can you accommodate us?
A: Our holiday houses are perfect for family gathering, wedding groups or a group of friends to enjoy some time on Mt Tamborine.
All of our private cottages and the rainforest suite are set up for couples only with one bedroom only. In our premium cottages we can set up a day bed to accommodate a 3rd guest for an additional charge.

Rates and Packages

Q: Does the Rate include Breakfast?
A: Yes, in all our Rates and Packages Breakfast is included when you stay with us at Witches Falls Cottages.
Breakfast is an optional extra when you stay at Bank House or Sky House, one of our Holiday Houses.

Q: Do I have to let you know which Breakfast Hamper I would like to get when I book?
A: No, we are very flexible with our Breakfast Menu and you will get to choose when you check-in. Please let us know in advance if you whave any special dietary requirments.

Q: Do you cater for guests who are Vegetarian, Vegan, Celiac?
A: Yes, certainly. Just let us know in advance if possible if you have any special dietary requirements. Mostly we can find something to suit your needs. We would normally check with you anyway when you make a booking over the phone.

Q: How far ahead do I need to book a BBQ Dinner Hamper or Cheese Platter?
A: We appreciate if you can give us a couple of days notice. However, we are often able to do a Dinner Hamper or Cheese Platter on short notice. Please have a look on our Dining Experience Page for more details.

Q: I like one of the Packages you offer but want to add something or leave something out. Can I do that?
A: Yes certainly, we can adjust all the packages that you see on our website to suit you. Or you can design your own package by adding extras to your accommodation package.

Q: Can you arrange Tours, Massages, Flowers etc.? How far ahead do we have to book?
A: Yes, we can arrange nearly anything for you. We do appreciate it if you can give us a week's notice (or at least a couple of days) to make sure you don't miss out on your preferred massage style for example.

Q: Do you give Industry, Pensioner, Student etc. discounts?
A: No, sorry. The list is just too long and finally everybody gets a discount for something. We therefore try to keep our prices as low as possible and give ALL of you the best value for money.


Q: Can I book online?
A: Yes and securely! You may check rates and availability and then book online using our Secure Site.

Q: I am wary of booking online, how else may I book?
A: You can complete our online enquiry form and we will contact you via email or phone shortly afterwards. Alternatively please contact us via phone on +61 7 5545 4411 and we will be able to answer any questions and take your booking details.

Q: What is your booking system and your checkout system?
A: We will be using Newbook as our booking system, so our templates will be there and we will have the relevant information on it.

Q: What is your Delivery/Payment Terms?
A: Payment must be made on booking with customer to use our service within 12-18 months of payment.

Q: When is payment requested?
A: Customer must pay at time of booking for online bookings.

Q: When is payment due?
ACustomer must pay at time of booking for online bookings.

Q: If payment is made in advance of completion, how long after payment will the service be completed?
A: Within 12 to 18 months.

Q: What happens after payment is made?
A: You will receive email confirmation & receipt will be emailed.

Q: Does the delivery days on the policy match “Average days paid in advance” and “Max days paid in advance”?
A: Yes

Q: Refund/Disputes Policy
A: Customer can be refunded in full as long as cancellation is 14 days prior to their stay

Q: What happens if someone wants to cancel the service before it is completed?
A: Customer can be refunded in full as long as cancellation is 14 days prior to their stay

Q: What happens if they are not happy with the service after it is completed?
A: As we are B&B, refunds requested post stay with us due to dislike of stay will not be refunded, however in the event something went drastically wrong, it will be discretion of management

Q: Full refunds will be offered for services with major faults/defects as per Australian Consumer Law.

Payment and Credit Cards

Q: What Credit Cards do you accept?
A: MasterCard, Visa and Debit Cards are accepted. Sorry, we DO NOT accept Amex or Diners Cards.

Minimum Stay - Single Nights

Q: Can I book a single night?
A: During Midweek - Monday to Thursday - we most always have single nights available (except over Christmas, New Year & Easter Holiday periods). We do require a minimum booking of two nights over the weekend. You can either book a Friday & Saturday night or a Saturday & Sunday night. However, because of that, we often end up with single Sundays, sometimes with single Fridays and very occasionally with single Saturdays.

We do not book single Saturdays unless we end up with a single night left after all other two-night bookings are finalised.

Gift Vouchers

Q: Do you have Gift Vouchers available?
A: Yes. We have Gift Vouchers for every accommodation package you would like (excluding a single Saturday night as they are only very rarely available). You can also add extras like a BBQ Dinner Hamper, Flowers on arrival etc. We are very flexible and creative and can arrange nearly anything for you. You can either buy a Gift Voucher online or give us a call on +61 7 5545 4411.

Q: Do I need to book for a specific date when I purchase a Gift Voucher?
A: No, all of our Gift Vouchers are valid for one year and you can book whenever its suits you, subject to availability.

Tamborine Mountain Climate / Weather

Q: How hot does it get during the day on the mountain?
A: The temperature rarely gets above 30°c and the mean average temperature is 25°c during the summer months.

Q: How cold does it get during the day on the mountain?
A: During the winter months (the driest months) the mean average temperature is about 18°c.

Q: How cold does it get at night on the mountain?
A: It can get cold, -0.6°c has been recorded once during June in previous years. However the cold nights do have there advantages at Witches Falls Cottages with a fireplace as standard in your Cottage. What a great way to spend a cold evening, lounging in front of your warm and cosy fireplace, with that someone special, sipping excellent vintage local wine and picking at tasty, flavorsome locally produced cheeses from the Tamborine Mountain Cheese Factory. Or maybe sampling some of the delectable, mouthwatering locally made chocolate or fudge. Cold? Not me!

Q: Does it rain a lot on Tamborine Mountain?
A: The average annual rainfall on Mount Tamborine is approx. 1600 millimetres, with the wetter months being December thru March. Winter months are mainly dry.

Q: Should I bring warm clothes?
A: Tamborine Mountain is approx. 550m above sea level and does get regular cool breezes (great on a hot summers day). Evenings can get cool so it is always best to bring warm clothing during the winter months if you plan to go out at night.
