Witches Falls Cottages have partnered with Southern Cross Four-Wheel Drive, an award winning Australian tour company, to offer guests to the cottages a unique night-time experience.
As the sun sets over the trees and the creatures of the day retire, your Southern Cross Four-Wheel Drive personal guide leads you on a safe, entertaining and informative walk through a magical, darkened world. Here, time slows down and senses are heightened. As the rainforest comes to life with a new cast of rarely-seen characters, you will hear the rustle of every leaf, the call of every bird and see the glint of many inquisitive eyes in the beam of your torch.
Your guided 'Rainforest Night Walk' takes about an hour and culminates in a visit to see Mount Tamborine's glow-worms in their natural habitat. Check out the Glow-worms away from the crowds at Tamborine Mountain's only Glow-worm Waterfall location. Our location for Glow-worms is hidden away from all the tourist buses but still located deep within Tamborine National Park. View glow worms right next to you as we walk to the waterfall. The Glow worms are right there in front of you like stars in the night sky.
Along the way you may encounter possums, frogs, huge rainforest snails, leaf tailed geckos, many species of spiders and insects, sugar gliders, tawny frogmouths, bats and much more.
Your personal guide from Southern Cross Four-Wheel Drive picks up our guests from Witches Falls Cottages on Monday and Wednesday evenings and returns you safely to your cottage after the walk but not before taking you for coffee & cake at a local restaurant.
Your tour occupies approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Southern Cross Tours has been an Australian owned, family business for over 18 years. Owners Darran and Steph have spent their lives in and around the Gold Coast Hinterland area and look forwad to showing you their Backyard.
Darran and his father Royd, as your guides, will keep you entertained all day and provide plenty of information on the places visited, wildlife you encounter and the history of the region.
